چکیده

Analysis of the current state nutrient stocks, flows, and balances a territory is necessary to inform strategies that can transition agri-food sector circular economy model. In this study, we quantified nitrogen phosphorus budgets for Bolivian system at national regional scales by way agro-ecological zoning. We performed calculate indicators sufficiency (extent deficit/surplus) circularity (proportion nutrients recirculated). also evaluated potential renewable stocks (human excreta livestock manure) meet deficits in system. Our results showed there are apparent 32 kt N 8 P cannot be accounted using available data. estimate real required bring yields 45 crops grown Bolivia parity with those neighbouring countries 110 33 P. About 44% 74% currently recirculated system, major inputs being biological fixation, manure, crop residues. However, recycling likely decrease future because strategy address increase domestic production synthetic fertilisers. analysis shows sufficient stock already human (39 5 P) cover 100% deficit 64% deficit. The low-altitude zone Chiquitania-Pantanal alone accounts 65% cultivation 80% demand country. Here, export-oriented like soybean sorghum grown, but less than 25% recirculated. contrast, surpluses 41 34 zones Valleys Altiplano where traditional agriculture practiced, majority food local consumption. Overall, find excreta, combined transfer surpluses, could an effective reduce overall

Nutrient flows between ecosystems can destabilize simple food chains.

Dispersal of organisms has large effects on the dynamics and stability of populations and communities. However, current metacommunity theory largely ignores how the flows of limiting nutrients across ecosystems can influence communities. We studied a meta-ecosystem model where two autotroph-consumer communities are spatially coupled through the diffusion of the limiting nutrient. We analyzed re...

Modeling nutrient flows in the food chain of China.

Increasing nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) inputs have greatly contributed to the increasing food production in China during the last decades, but have also increased N and P losses to the environment. The pathways and magnitude of these losses are not well quantified. Here, we report on N and P use efficiencies and losses at a national scale in 2005, using the model NUFER (NUtrient flows in Fo...

the search for the self in becketts theatre: waiting for godot and endgame

this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...

Food Waste to Energy: An Overview of Sustainable Approaches for Food Waste Management and Nutrient Recycling

Food wastage and its accumulation are becoming a critical problem around the globe due to continuous increase of the world population. The exponential growth in food waste is imposing serious threats to our society like environmental pollution, health risk, and scarcity of dumping land. There is an urgent need to take appropriate measures to reduce food waste burden by adopting standard managem...

Nutrient balances for cassava cultivation in Kampong Cham province in Northeast Cambodia

In Cambodia, cassava is mostly grown with little or no fertilizer inputs, but the magnitudes of nutrient balances are not known. This study was conducted to assess nutrient balances for cassava cultivation in Kampong Cham province in Northeast Cambodia. Forty five households in four cassava production zones were interviewed in relation to their cultural practices and crop residue management...
